The first faces are printed.

Back in Montreal, to work on the Portret Landscape Machine, with artist-collective [The User].

This is just a teaser, will write all about it pretty soon!

I rebuilt Ideofoon 1 by Dick Raaijmakers. The project is commissioned by the Witteveen + Bos prize.

Dick Raaijmakers has won this prize this year.

Opening of the exposition, starring Ideofoon 1 is november 10th in Deventer.

I built a Sandpen. For Roel Wouters and Luna Maurer. You can see it and use it at the Flux/S 3 Prelude festival on 3 &4 september in Eindhoven.

Engineering and production of Concidence Engine one

For artist collective The User.

Engineering & production of a winch-system, consisting of 4 winches loaded with very long whips, yes.. whips. For theatreplay Zweep by  Schweigman&.

I arrived back in Holland.

After a succesfull completion of the 3-axis motion control system for the Portrait Landscape Machine.

And proof of concept on “printing with sand”.

To be continued in Autumn.

In the mean time I will be looking for… and working on… more interesting projects.

I’ll keep you posted!

Untill end of March I am working on a new project with artist collectieve [the user].

I am engineering the mechanical structure of a new piece of art called: “Portrait Landscape Machine”

I’m keeping you informed with a column in Dutch:

Montréal, groeten uit. #1

Here is a short clip of a scenery-installation I made in January. It’s part of a play of Theatre-ensemble Veenfabriek, called: In de Tijd van Tijgers.

Check out the tourdates on the website of Veenfabriek.

I engineered the mechanics of this recordplayer extraordinaire..

TPS2010 from Fedde ten Berge on Vimeo.

In collaboration with Theun Mosk I built 5 identical light objects. They are triangular, having 3 panels. The lights are moved and turned on stage by the musicians. The first appearance was December 16th: “Dutch Design” by Asko|Schönberg in Muziekgebouw aan ‘t Ij in Amsterdam…   It was a great night.

Article about SPIN.

I built 8 detachable table systems in lime green. Together they form a meandering line of 24 meters.

It has all to do with this: Platteland als Podium

The first public presentation/performance of TPS2010 in Huis a/d Werf Utrecht, oktober 7, 20:30.

A few good things are going on!

Working with Bram Vreven on his new work called: SPIN.

Working with Fedde ten Berge & Luc van Weelden on: Turntable Performance System (TPS).

Low budget solution for automated opening & closing curtains on a Trumpf rail system.

Custombuilt, variable speeds starting from zero movement, easy mounting on Trumpf rail systems.

System displayed below toured flawlessly for 30+ plays of De City by Veenfabriek.

I developed a tool for Letman last year, the Rainbowgun, allowing the user to paint with 7 spray-cans simultaneously.

Check it out in this remarkable performance, made for: If you could collaborate ’09.

For theatregroup Nieuw West, I made a Light-installation. A mercurygas-light, rotates once every hour, with a circle-radius of 3,5 meters. The driving-mechanism functions as a counterweight to balance the construction.

Sucking air in and blowing it out again, yes, breathing is what it’s called. Pretty basic concept for some new variety in tones on the musical sirens: Instead of a continuous airstream, this “adjustable airpump”, sucks and pressurizes in a frequency, adjusted by the musician.

Check out a patchwork of different sounds I made with it.
